Online Services - Patient Access

Online Services are now available at the practice. Please note, to use the online services you must ask for registration details from reception.

Many GPs offer online services to their patients and since April 2015 all GPs should provide their patients with online access to summary information in their GP record .

Online services do not replace traditional ways of contacting your GP practice, over the telephone or in person. They simply offer additional ways to contact your GP, making it easier and more convenient.

For example, order your repeat prescription from home or at work, save yourself a trip to the GP practice or look up your medications online. Telephone consultation can also be booked using online services.

It is hoped that these types of online services will help to free up GP practice telephone lines for people without internet access and enable GP practices to manage appointments and telephone calls more efficiently.

For more information about Patient Online services please see the leaflet below, or alternatively you can visit the Patient Online webpage on the NHS Choices website:

Patient Access

The description below is to give you an idea of what services will be available:

Patient Access is an online service offered by the clinical computer system EMIS to allow patients to perform certain tasks online. The system links into the practice's clinical system and allows the patient, once they've registered for the service, to book appointments online, request repeat prescriptions and alter contact details, without having to ring or call into the practice.

Registering for EMIS Access

First of all you must register to use the internet facility. Ask the receptionist for a registration form, which provides the information you need to register to use the Internet facility.
